In this section of the Pikk Street there are some beautiful examples of the Art Nouveau architecture. On the top of one of the facades there is a bespectacled man looking down right into the windows of the building opposite. It is said that a naughty man lived in that house in the eary days soon after the building was completed. He spent a good amount of his time watching the ballet dancers in their dressing room in the house across the street. Eventually the man’s wife found out what her beloved husband’s secret hobby was. She was so furious that she turned him into stone right there and then. But not even the grave could cure the hunchback and so the Peeping Man is still peeping the girls from the other side of the street.
