Telegraaf and Katariina Guild

The building of the Hotel Telegraaf originally had 4 floors. Built in the late 1870s, it was a bank and during the first independence years became the main post office of Tallinn. Across the street you can see the Katariina or Catherine’s Guild where various open studios function as handicraft workshops in which you can watch the artists at work – creating ceramics, hats, hot glass, stained glass, jewelry, dolls and more. Bringing together eight studios and fourteen women artists, Katariina Guild is a symbolic bridge between the past and the present.
